Steamload online storage seems to be the fastest growing online storage company. They say they are adding 1 teravyte a week. This is definately a tond of space. We actually decided to give it a shot today and test it out for ourselves. Unfortanately their sign up was not working.

So at first glance… we give Streamload a thumbs down, but this could all change when they figure out their sign up sheet problem.

Streamload, a San Diego-based company providing online storage services, is adding more than a terabyte a week of storage to its network to keep ahead of consumer demands for online storage, said CEO Steve Iverson at the AlwaysOn Stanford Summit taking place here this week.

“We’ve got data centers in San Diego, Phoenix and Frankfurt, Germany. Half of our customers are outside the U.S.,” he said. “We are storing over 8 billion files.”

Microsoft is working on an online storage service that appears to be competition for Google’s service called Gdrive which is also in development, according to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans. It is currently codenamed Microsoft Live Drive.
